Zelata, a druid of Aquilonia who once counseled King Conan himself, lives in the Wild Lands away from civilization. She has three animal companions, a wolf, a white horse, and an eagle. She met Conan when he rescued her during a time when a bunch of Nemedians were going to hang her. She stands straight and tall despite her advanced age, and her features are clear-cut and aquiline.

She often wears ragged garb, but she is no peasant woman. She is a mysterious figure to the people of the region, unknown to many and mistrusted by the few that are aware of her existence. Her powers set her apart from others and vilify her in the minds of those who need a scapegoat for the region’s troubles. Now, as Nemedian soldiers press south and as the Dark Beasts slaughter whole villages, the ostracized witch-woman finds herself hated by many who believe her responsible for the problems they face.

She often speaks in riddles. The gods speak through her, and as a result she can cast divine spells.
