How to contribute to WikiAOC

Start by getting familiar with the wiki interface: the official Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start. The wikipedia cheatsheet is also very helpful as a quick reference.

Please Register an account before editing pages.

• The main idea is that you can go to a page and click  edit this page  at the top, and edit it, to improve the content.

• You can also create new articles, and assign them to a category. You can link to articles by typing the name inside [[ ]], eg [[FAQ]] will link to the FAQ page.

• If you click  edit this page  at the very top of a page you can see its source, and get an idea of what the different commands do :). Try it with this page and use the 'preview' button!

• Clicking  discussion  at the top of the page will take you to a page where you can talk with other users about the content of the page. Don't forget to sign any talk entries by typing "~~~~" at the end of your post.

• Use the Recent Changes link in the Navigation bar on the left of the page to see recent changes to articles – it's often quite helpful to see what's changed.

Use the Village Pump discussion page to talk with the admins/users about the site in general.

Linking to other language versions of a page

Put a wiki link in the following format anywhere on a page: [[xx:article name in the target language]], where xx is the language code. This will then put a "In other languages" box in the sidebar to the left below the search tool, linking to that article.

Note: links are one-directional, to link two articles together you must insert a language link in either article. For example, the Aquilonia page uses the wiki link [[fr:Aquilonie]] to link to the french aquilonia page, which in turn contains the link [[en:Aquilonia]] to link to the Aquilonia article.
