Can we fix the width of the headings? Thinner lines would be easier to read, how about finishing under the 'P' of the banner? (am running at 1280*1024) Torn 12:18, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- Actually, fixed widths are probably a bad design idea Torn 12:21, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- How about this way? fixed columns, rigt column for charter, left for info. Does it look good? Antimon 12:29, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- Not bad, not bad at all :). Torn 12:42, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- I think we should convert this to a template. Its hard to understand that source for an average user. I'm thinking of something like this:
- {{GuildPage
- |name=Example Guild
- |language=English
- |master=TheMaster
- |site=http://....
- |content=
- ===Overview===
- bla bla bla
- }}
- to produce that whole page. Easier to use. What do u think? Antimon 12:45, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- Agreed - that's easier than the wiki table syntax, and split over lines like that it's fairly readable. However if guilds wanted to add extra rows to the information/charter box, they'd have to jump through a few hoops, no? Torn 12:47, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- Actually, after consideration, the wiki syntax isn't too hard, and it's easy to see from looking at the source which lines correspond to which rows. So it's a question of 'syntax neatness' and modular code vs. ease of extension, looks like. Torn 12:48, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- Editing charter would be real pain :) And forcing people to use that might not be a good idea. I will insert some comments into current code to have it more eaiser to understand. And as i remember from ao, funcom makes it possible to fetch guild information from their servers. So fansites can display guild stats etc. I can write an extension to fetch info into charter later if they do so for aoc too. Antimon 12:57, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
- The source comments look good, I've added to them and have suggested a large centered header if guilds don't have a 600x100 banner at the time of page creation. -Torn 14:35, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
