Solitude is an Age of Conan guild planning to play on a roleplay-PVP server. The guild structure consists of two parts.

The "House of Solitude" is a roleplay-heavy guild, concentrating on PVE and roleplay events. All members have equal voting rights, officers exists only so that defined tasks, such as recruitment, have someone to drive them and maintain focus. To keep this system effective there are very stringent application requirements with a long trial period and a full membership vote on admission of new members, a single "no" vote from any member on a newcomer can result in an application failing. A number of Solitude's members have played together in previous MMOs and this system has a lot of strengths, and worked well there. It results in a strong, cohesive guild where members trust and respect each other, even where differences of opinion inevitably arise. As a result we are on first name terms and do not use character names within the guild. Whilst this style works well for a PVE-focused guild we also have every intention of getting fully involved in mass battles in Age of Conan, and for that numbers are required.

"The Chapter" is Solitude's warfare division. This section concentrates heavily on player-versus-player in the world of Hyboria, and will have much easier recruitment standards. It will be more 'military' in nature, with a squad-based system (mini-Chapters) making sure members get used to working with one another. It will still be a roleplay guild, but the focus will be almost entirely based on warfare.

Guild members of either section are welcome to join in any activities undertaken by the guild. However, members of The Chapter will not be expected to pay attention to cities if they don't wish to, and members of the House of Solitude will not be required to engage in non-essential warfare.
