Coup De Grace (aka CDG), is an "end-game" based guild set to take on the toughest PvE and PvP experiences that the upcoming game "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures" has to offer. Founded September 17th, 2007 during the AoC beta, our philosophy is to win, to have fun... then win again. The leadership of Coup De Grace consists of some of the most skilled MMO players the genre has seen, with experience from M59, UO, EQ, SWG, AC, DAoC, EQ2, CoH/CoV, WoW, LotRO and more. However, knowing that this is set to be an MMO like no other, the main skills that we are taking from our previous experiences are the abilities to lead large groups of players, adapt to an ever changing gaming environment, and strategize to take down the hardest content that the game designers can conjure up. CDG specializes is PvP as well, with many of our leaders and members coming from extensive PvP backgrounds. We are a very organized and goal oriented guild, so if you are looking for a group who intends to be server wide leaders in decimating the toughest content and building god-like cities then come check us out. [edit] Who We Are Looking For?

We are looking for like-minded players that strive to be the best, work to learn their classes inside an out, and are looking for a team based environment. Our members must be able to listen to and follow directions in a raid/group environment, and maintain a positive attitude. Although we completely understand and believe that real life ALWAYS comes first, we expect a high level of activity from our members and also expect them to maintain at least a 60% attendance level to our raids and guild events. In addition to in-game activity, we also would like our members to stay active on our guild forum since that is where all pertinent information will be posted, and it is a good place for everyone to get to know each other better. We also require our members to use vent while in groups and raids so that we have efficient means of communication. Although we are looking for experienced players, we will gladly take people who are heading into their first MMO, however, they must be coming in with a willingness to learn and have a teachable attitude.

• 18 or over preferred, however maturity is the main emphasis
• Must have a computer that can handle raiding environments
• Must have Ventrilo and a Microphone (or planning to have by release)
• Must be able to maintain a 60% raid attendance
• Must be active in-game and on the forums
• Must have a good attitude

[edit] Guild Structure

Coup De Grace is set to be a power guild in Age of Conan with a member base in excess of 150 people. To this end, we will be using a battalion system with a series of well-balanced groups. This will not only aid in organizing PvE raids, but also will play a large role in siege battles and keep defenses as well.

Battalions will initially be organized based on the average playtime of its members. This will not only aid in organizing PvE raids and training sessions, but also will aide in alleviating logging in and having nobody to group with. The battalion system will also allow us to incorporate international players or U.S. players with odd play times if need be (i.e. we may have a European regiment if necessary). In addition, if CDG were to acquire another guild, depending upon its size we may give it a battalion of its own.

Initially we plan on having 4 class-balanced battalions with approximately 40 members in each (battalion names pending). Guild officers will not belong to any specific battalion (excluding battalion leaders), but will be in a group of their own which interacts with all battalions and members on a regular basis. As the guild continues to grow we will increase the battalion sizes or numbers.

[edit] Member Ranks

Members who get accepted into the guild will come in on a 2 week trial basis and be known as ‘recruits.’ During this trial period we are looking for the recruits to be active on both the forums and in-game (once the game goes live). During this trial period the recruiters and class leaders will group with the new recruits to qualify them for full entry into the guild. The recruiters will be looking for quality of play, ability to take and follow directions, as well as how well recruits know the ins and outs of their respective class. Once a recruit has been qualified and has finished the recruitment phase, they will be promoted to full member status.

If you are interested in joining Coup De Grace, there are a few steps you must take. The first step is to go to the Information section on our forums and read up on our guild information to make sure that we are a good fit for you. The next step is to read and sign our Code of Conduct (CoC). Once those two steps are completed, go to our application section, copy and paste the application into a new post and fill it out. After your application has been posted, our officers will review it and get back to you shortly. Once your application has been accepted, all that is left for you to do is to go to the introductions forum and introduce yourself so we can all get to know you better.
